RAJA AMPAT

            Raja Ampat is one of the world’s best marine sights which have a very beautiful view of sea and island. It is located in the northwest tip of bird’s head peninsuela New Geunia, Indonesia. It only takes two hours by plane from capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta. Specifically, Raja Ampat is located in regency sorong in 2014. There are three beautiful islands named Misoo Salawati, Batanta, and Warigeo in which tourist around the world intend to visit. They were named after an important ancient leader of Raja Ampat. It also provides many dive resorts which face to the cost of sea. From this resort, tourist could see sunrise in the morning. Other facility in Raja Ampat is a conservation center. With all this facility and beautiful view, Raja Ampat becomes the most favourite destination for tourist around the world. 

A Brave lion

Far in the hinterland of African forest was lived a strange looking lion who has not a manes in his nape of neck, his name was Gavin. His entire friend has had the manes in their nape of neck when they grew up but his manes did not show up yet. In his colony the manes were a symbol of power and authority. Lion was a social animal, Gavin grew up in the large colony that lead by the most powerful lion whose name was Ignacio, in his age of nine it was a time for him to enthrone the next trusted leader. Everyone predicted that the next leader must be Marc because he has a very glorious manes. But there was always a competition to reach that throne, every man in the colony could join the competition. Gavin felt interested to join the competition, so he registered as a candidate of the next leader. When everyone knew that Gavin registered himself as a candidate they laughed at him and humiliated him especially Marc and his friends, they said that Gavin could not gave the safety to the entire colony because his small body just like a lioness. In that small body the appropriate things to do was hunting not lead the community, or other community would disparaged their colony, because the leader was describing quality of whole colony. Even others lion insulted and underestimate him, he still believed in himself that he could be the responsible leader.

            The competition day came, the entire candidate prepared for the Ignacio’s judgment or any challenged that him asked. Gavin was the last Candidate that called to came forward, Gavin walked in sturdy to the stage that made by the rock. The audience threw him with the grass, branch, and the fresh meat right in his face than asked him to walk down from the stage; they also abused him with the rude language. He walked down with the shattered self-esteem and wounded heart. He decided to leave his colony and became solitary like a leopard’s life. He heard from his way leave the colony that Marc had chosen as the next leader, they cheered happily to Marc. In a minutes later Gavin heard they screamed loudly, there must be something wrong. He felt hesitate to go back to the colony but his anxiety became bigger, so he decided to check them for a moment.

            Gavin saw Ignacio had already laid down in the ground with a fresh blood flowed from his neck. Blake stood up in the rock stage and roared loudly, he was the leader of other colony. Gavin did not see Marc in everywhere; Marc must be the one who had to handle this problem. In that terrible condition he had to do something to save his colony, so Gavin challenged Blake to fight until dead. Blake was much more bigger than Gavin, at first Gavin looked snowed under Blake’s attack but soon Gavin defeated him with his agility. Gavin’s colony welcomed him as a hero and finally, chose Gavin as the leader of the colony.          

The Long Process of Writing

Writing is the process of molding the ideas from our mind to the piece of paper. There are four basic steps that we have to go through to make our writing consider as good.

· The first step is: Assessing the Assignment

This step is the easiest than the other steps. We only have to listen to the rules of our writing assignment that gave by the lecturer carefully. You need to be clear on the length of the paper, its due date, and its format. Another important point is to know the sources of information that you may use.

· The second step is: Generating Ideas

The purpose of this step is to think about a certain topic and generate as many ideas as possible. There are many ways to do this; two of the most effective are brainstorming and free writing.

o   Brainstorming can be done individually or in group. If I may choose, I prefer doing it in groups. It would be very helpful for us, because each member of group could mention their ideas, so we got a lot of ideas from each individual. Remember, this is not the time to evaluate how good or bad they are.

o   Free writing is similar to brainstorming. I could do it only in peace situation. Do not let anybody distract our concentration. The important point is let our ideas and imaginations flow. The most important aspect of free writing is not to allow ourselves to stop.

· The third step is: Organizing our Ideas

We need to organize the idea that we got in the step two by use topic outlines and tree diagrams.

o  Topic Outlines, first we have to decide what the main idea of the paragraph is. After that, we need to consider which points to include in order best supporting our main point. In an outline, we do not have to use complete sentences. For me, it is like listing process. I only have to straighten it from the most important point to the less important point.

o  Tree Diagram is a kind of visual outline format. We start with the main idea and then make branches to points that support our idea. It is suggested for people who have more visual skills, but the branches that consist in tree diagram make me confused.

· The  last step is: Writing the First Draft

We have already our ideas generated and an organizational pattern to follow; now we can write the first draft.

The fourth basic steps have already explained, but the process of writing was not ended here. As a good writer, we should make sure to read our writing carefully and patiently, in order to make changes and give the corrections before finalizing. After finalizing our writing, we should do a proof reading. It is very unusual in our culture, but actually it is very important to do. We need a proof reader to correct and evaluate our writing in order to make our writing understandable for the readers. A proof reader would give attention to the small details, such as grammatical error, punctuation, and another rules in writing. Proof reading must do by a professional. Proof reading is the hardest one in the process of writing because I have to master grammar and rules of punctuation. Finally, we know that the process of writing is very long and need a concentrate to finish.

An awkward story

                In far away, there was a peaceful kingdom lead by a wise king. He has one beautiful daughter that took after the queen appearance so much, she has blonde hair and aristocrat face. The queen died when she gave a birth of a beautiful princess, which explained why the king was so protective to everything that related to the princess. The king always gave his best to raise his lovely daughter even in every small detail. The princess grew up into the beautiful and stunning women, her beauty well-known in many others kingdom. The king thought it was the time for her daughter to married and had a happy family like he had, than the king asked his servant to spread the news of prize contest and as the prize the winner could married with his lovely daughter but only the prince that could attended this contest. When the princess knew about this news, she became angry to his father. She complained on his father’s planed to make a prize contest of herself. Because without the king acknowledgement the princess was falling in love with one of the king’s soldier, he was a brave, gentle, and kind man. They met at the stable club; the young soldier was the princess’ private trainer that taught her to ride a horse. Day by day passed, and their love became bigger than before. The princess decided to tell her father about the man whom she loved much. She entered the king’s room in very late night and woke him up, she began talked to the king that he had to cancelled the prize contest, because she already have the right person to married and he was a gorgeous man but the important thing was; he is the one whom the princess loved. The king thought it was strange, how the princess found the right man if she has not leave the kingdom to met the prince from the other kingdom. The princess said hesitantly that the man whom she loved was not a prince; he was a soldier from her own kingdom. The king got into a rage when he heard that, his eyes bulged out in angry. The king promised to give the soldier punishment for approached the princess. The princess realize that she put the young soldier in dangerous, the princess begged to the king for not gave the soldier punishment but the king did not pay attention to princess’ request. The king shut the princess out in her room; the servant did not allow the princess went out from her room until the day of punishment. The princess cried a river in her room; she did not sleep and ate all day long. She became frustrated because she putted her important person into a terrible dangerous, the princess thought that at the end, her love to the soldier was only a nightmare for the soldier. She wandered if she was only an ordinary woman that lives in the village as the daughter of a farmer, this thing would not be happened.

           

The day of the soldier punishment came; the princess went out from her room to watch her lovely man being executed. The princess looked pale and disarray. She begged for the last time to her father for not gave the soldier punishment, she said that she could not stand about this un-fair thing, both of them was in love so the princess ought to get the punishment too. As a wise king, he considered to give the soldier option on his punishment. The king has already prepared the hungry lion and very beautiful women to choose by the soldier. If he chooses the lion he had to fight with bare hand till the lion died and if he chooses the beautiful woman he had to married with her and move to the other kingdom but there was something that make this execution more interesting for the inhabitants, that was: both of them were saved in the back of the door, so the soldier did not know whether the door he chose was a beautiful women or a hungry lion.

The soldier walked to the middle of coliseums right facing the doors. He stood bravely and saw the princess for the last time before any un-controlled thing happened to him. He was ready for everything that might happen on his life because the soldier loved the princess much; he thought it was the proper price for loving the wonderful women. The soldier chose the right door to open but he asked for agreement first to the princess. The princess nodded, but suddenly the soldier attacked by doubt. He moved to the left door and asked the princess’ agreement again and the princess nodded. The soldier confused on what princess doing, she nodded to both of the doors. The soldier wanted to ask for assurance to the princess; the soldier shouted to the princess,

 “Why did you nodded to both of the doors? Which one should I opened princess, I was confused.”

With a startled and flat face the princess said, “Sorry, what did you say? I did not do anything.”

“You nodded to both of doors. It made me confused my princess.”

“Really, I was not sure I nodded to give you an agreement. You know, I was sleepy. I have not slept for five days. Actually I tried for not sleeping right now.”

The soldier felt helpless, so he decided to open any door without any consideration. He followed his heart and opened the right door. Inhabitants restrained their breath when the soldier opened the door. The soldier brought in the nervous milieu and his hand became cold, but when the door had opened there was no hungry lion or beautiful woman in it, there was only a scrolled paper laid down in the bottom of the back door. He took that paper and opened it. It written, “TRY AGAIN IN THE OTHER DOOR, DO NOT GIVE UP” in the capital letter.

The soldier flustered and thought that the king just made fun of him or maybe from the first time there was nothing an option for him. Now, he knew for sure that there was only a lion that the king had prepared for him. The soldier prepared himself to face the hungry lion. Right after he opened the door the hungry lion would ready to grip him. He thought he deserve on it, than he opened the left door. But, there was no a hungry lion there, he only found another scrolled paper and opened it. It was written, “SORRY YOU ARE UNLUCKY, MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU WILL GET THE HUNGRY LION” In the capital letter.

The soldier became more flustered, so did the inhabitants. The soldier asked the king for explanation, but the king just laughed. All of the people in coliseum confused about what was going on. Than the king said in the humility voiced,

“Today is my daughter birthday. I want to gave her an unforgettable surprise. I gave you a test to made me knew whether you deserve to stand beside my princess or not and now I knew that you are a respectable, responsible and kind man. On this important day I blessed you to married with my daughter.”

The soldier shocked to hear that, he felt very happy and thanked to the king so much. All of the people in the coliseum cheered happily to hear this good news. The soldier directly run to the princess, when he run up to the princess’ throne the soldier slipped down on his own leg and his head collide with edges of the princess’ throne. The soldier’s head bleeding, he was not died but there was going wrong on his head, he became idiot. However, the princess still loved him and married with him and finally they lived happily ever after.  

  

            

My Beloved Semarang State University

Semarang State University (SSU) is the sixth most favourite campus in Indonesia, according to the kompas.com. Semarang State University located in Semarang, capital city of Central Java, Indonesia. It has eight (8) faculties, they are the faculty of education science, the faculty of languages and arts, the faculty of social science, the faculty of mathematics and natural science, the faculty of engineering, the faculty of sports science, the faculty of economics, and the faculty of law. The student body is approximately 40.000 students enrolled in those 8 faculties. Semarang State University has a mission of conservation. It is conrvate the culture through traditional dance department and javanesse department. Semarang State University also built an eco-green were 1/4 part of Semarang State University is beautiful garden which is growen by multiple trees. Many of collage students of Semarang State University are go joging and sight seeing in the afternoon. There are no motorcycle and car a lot to pass the area of campus from 7 am until 4 pm.
